Nate & Kaylen's engagement session was an absolute dream! We attempted to begin their session at the Lincoln Memorial, but Washington, DC, was doing her usual thing, and the memorial was under heavy construction for the winter. The tricky part about planning an engagement session for Washington, DC, is you never know when you'll come across a protest, military demonstration, or construction. That said, Washington DC has so many beautiful, timeless, and historic locations to choose from, so when one is under construction, there are still plenty of options to choose from.
When I arrived at the Lincoln Memorial, I quickly realized that there was no way we could go with our original session plan, so I quickly pivoted to the DC War Memorial. The DC War Memorial is a short walk from the Lincoln and provides a very similar iconic DC look with white stone columns. Another benefit to the DC Warr Memorial is that it's not as popular as other DC attractions–we had the place to ourselves all morning! This location is perfect for couples who want the iconic DC look without the hundreds of tourists. We finished up their session at the Reflection Pool in front of the Washington Monument.
